Trying to figure out where you want to live can be a difficult decision to make.
Things to consider is where your budget meets your wish list. It is true that you can find an affordable home in most areas. Maybe you have a few neighborhoods that could meet your needs. When you are setting out to look for a new home in Seattle it is one of the most important questions to ask.

Price vs. Budget
The first step in finding a place that meets both your budget and needs is finding a neighborhood or suburb. Take the neighborhoods you are looking into and compare the median hoe prices to your budget on what you are willing to spend on your new home. After eliminating neighborhoods that are completely out of the question for price or anything that is not on your wish list contact your agent to compare your wish list and budget. Your agent will ensure that both is realistic and attainable. Once you have completed that task, you should narrow it down to 2 neighborhoods that can be a possible match for you.

Prioritize Your Wish List
At this point in order to make a better decision you want to have a pros and cons list of each area according to your prioritized wish list. For example if safety is number one you want to make sure that you review the crime rates and compare that as your number one.If your children’s’ education is very important, ask yourself, “Is one neighborhood in a better school district then the other?” If you want to keep your commute to work short then ask yourself, “Is this neighborhood closer to work than the others?” If distance to your friends or family is on the top of your list of your home buying decision, then consider the distance between neighborhoods and your loved ones.

The Drive By, Energy Test
Once you have removed it to a few neighborhoods and areas that don’t meet your needs the next step would be to get a better feel for those areas. The best way to get an accurate feel of an area is by actually going there and spending some time. Take a drive around the neighborhood and look around during the day and at night. Keep an eye on what you see and how it makes you feel. Get out of your car and walk around visit near by parks and restaurants. Can you picture yourself living here? Does it look like the kind of area that you could enjoy for years to come? If your agent is local to the area they will be a great resource as well. Next, ask your agent about open houses in the area. If the open houses you attend are in homes that meet your budget, lifestyle, and needs then you know that you are in the right area.

Start exploring houses with your agent and hae fun with the process you will know when you found the right one.
