An addition to the Seattle Waterfront is the new Seattle Ferris wheel set to open soon on Pier 57. It should be open for operation in July. When it officially opens, the Pier 57 Ferris wheel is only going to actually make a previously family-friendly destination around the city’s waterfront much more family-friendly. Already placed on Pier 57 really are a slide carousel, an arcade, and an accumulation of shops and restaurants.
You will be able to see views of Downtown Seattle, the waterfront, Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains from 200 feet in the air, in the comfort of enclosed (heated & air-conditioned) capsules. A few of the 42 gondolas will also be glass-bottomed and all will pass 40 feet over Elliott Bay when in the airj.
I can’t wait to try it out! What do you think about the new addition to our Seattle Skyline?
