Seattle break-dancing crew The Massive Monkees celebrates its Annual Massive Monkee’s Day with a party and dancing competition at Cirque Event Center this coming Saturday night. In 2004, the Massive Monkees won the world break-dancing championship . Later, Mayor Greg Nickels gave them their own day to commemorate the day of their win — annual “Massive Monkee Day.”
They are also known as being featured on MTV’s popular dance competition show, “America’s Best Dance Crew” (ABDC). On the show, the Massive Monkees showcased their dedication and skill in weekly challenges. Now with that fame they still remain humble and have a passion for giving back to our Seattle Community.
This year due to the devistation of the tsunami and the profits of the Massive Monkee’s Day 2011 will go to the relief efforts in Japan. The Massive Monkees are no strangers to philinthropic acts see this article by the NW Asian Weekly “A Philanthropic Future for the Massive Monkees?”. They have been traveling around touring the world and just recently won another competion locally.

Massive Monkees and 206 Zulu present Massive Monkees Day 2011 – The 12th Anniversary
April 23rd, 2011 from 6pm – 11pm. This year’s party will feature dancers from around the globe going to head-to-head for over $2,000 in cash and prizes.
