Issaquah Art Walk – June 3

5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

The Downtown Issaquah Association holds its monthly Art Walk in Downtown and Gilman Village on June 3, 2011 from 5-8 p.m.  Now in its 10th season, this lively and free event brings hundreds of visitors into Issaquah each first Friday of the month, May through September.  Rain or shine, regional artists set up temporary shows in Downtown businesses and street corners for the evening bringing historic Issaquah to life.  Artists-in-action, creative activities and live music at various locations create a family-friendly celebration inspiring curious exploration of this vibrant arts-based community.

New for the June Art Walk, Museo Art Academy opens its new studio at 111 Front Street North. The new location is just down the street from its previous location. For the June 3 open house during Art Walk, Knutsen welcomes the public into the new space with a series of free, family-centered activities including tooling metal, painting with watercolors, acrylics and making monoprints.

Museo Art Academy joins its neighbor artEAST, a community arts organization with a gallery and art classes, with a strong storefront presence in Issaquah’s historic downtown. Tip your cap to the restored Hailstone Feed Store and Shell Gas station, and to Village Theater, right down the block. Issaquah’s hopping with arts and heritage!
